US-based leasing company Icon Capital has sold its only suezmax tanker, brokers say.

The Jiangsu Rongsheng-built, 156,500-dwt Shamrock (built 2011) has reportedly been sold for $31m to a European buyer that has it on time charter.

VesselsValue says the ship, which has been employed in the Stena Sonangol Suezmax Pool, is worth $34m.

Confirmation

Stena Bulk chief executive Erik Hanell confirmed that the ship is leaving the pool, which is a leading suezmax player with 23 vessels.
