Indian oil companies are looking increasingly to countries like Canada and the US to replace the barrels previously imported from Venezuela and the Middle East, say analysts.

Reliance, which operates the world’s largest refining complex in India, is reported to have secured supplies of 2m barrels a month for six months from Canada.

The moves by Indian refiners come as concerns grow that US sanctions on Venezuela will cut off access to India's third largest source of crude, reported Bloomberg.
