US oil major Chevron announced a $36.8bn expansion of its jointly owned Tengiz oil field, which could eventually add to tanker volumes coming out of the Black Sea.
Tengizchevroil, a joint venture of Chevron and its minority partners, said it will go ahead with a project to boost output from the Tengiz, one of the largest oil fields in Kazakhstan, adding another 260,000 barrels per day of production.
