Japanese shipping giant MOL is integrating its chemical tanker units more than a year after taking over Nordic Tankers.

MOL Nordic Tankers, as the company had been known since the acquisition, will be fully merged into its parent, MOL Chemical Tankers, on 1 May.

“Uniting network, activities and resources of the two companies under one brand, puts the MOL Chemical Tankers Group in a strong competitive industry position, where we will be able to service an even wider range of customer segments and to expand our commercial and operational activities to the benefit of our customers,” said MOL Chemical Tankers chief executive Tsuneo Watanabe.
