Rederi Gotland profit falls in ‘very weak’ product tanker market

Sweden’s Rederi AB Gotland has seen earnings eroded by what it called a “very weak” clean tanker sector in 2021.

The company, which also operated ropaxes, said net profit was SEK 115m ($12.1m) last year, against SEK 333m in 2020.

The decline in earnings is largely due to a very weak product tanker market with a “significant” loss during the year for Gotland Tankers.
