Things can only get better in product tanker markets, according to Singapore's First Ship Lease Trust (FSL Trust).

The shipowner's chief executive Roger Woods said rates were continuously low in the third quarter, amid subdued oil production and tonne-mile demand for vessels.

This has weighed on the earnings of the fleet operated in pools or the spot market and the impact could not be fully absorbed by the tankers employed on period charters, he admitted.
