Athens-based Top Ships has sold its two MR1 product tankers in a move that leaves it with a fleet of only MR2s.

The Nasdaq-listed tanker owner said the 39,200-dwt Eco Fleet (built 2015) and Eco Revolution (built 2016) was sold to unaffiliated third parties and would be delivered to their new owners during January 2020.

The Evangelos Pistiolis-led company, which announced the deal Friday afternoon, did not disclose and pricing details, although valuation platform VesselsValue estimates the Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard-built Eco Fleet is worth in the region of $28.5m
