Mylonas-family controlled Transmed Shipping has put its only suezmax tanker into Navig8’s Suez8 pool, European brokers said.
The deal involves Cypriot shipowner's 152,000-dwt Zeno (built 2003), which it reportedly bought from Teekay LNG Partners for $15.7m in November, when it was the European Spirit.
Navig8 could not be reached for immediate comment, and the Zeno has not been added to its fleet list. It has nine suezmaxes listed in its Suez8 pool.
Four of them are controlled by HCI Capital after it took over Germany’ Konig & Cie in 2016. The 2005-built tankers have recently been inspected, and some brokers claim the quartet os already are tied up, possibly to Transmed, for $18.5m each.
