European brokers have reported a number of tanker sales linked to trading giant Vitol.

The group has emerged as the seller of a VLCC to Greece’s Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) earlier this month.

TEN had said that it had acquired a 300,000-dwt, 2020-built scrubber-fitted tanker it renamed Zeus.

The Greek company added that the South Korean-built ship was bought from “a major oil concern” with expected delivery in September, in preparation for an improvement in the market into 2023.
