Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN), a Greek tanker owner known for its conservatism, will increasingly consider introducing alternative propulsion methods for any new ships it orders.

A special working group has been established within the company to examine LNG, ammonia, hydrogen and other alternative fuels.

“Any upcoming newbuilding project will be evaluated with this question in mind,” the New York-listed company said on Wednesday while releasing its 2020 financial results.
