A team of United Nations authorities is potentially just weeks away from inspecting a floating storage and offloading vessel off Yemen that has been described as a potential “floating bomb”.
UN humanitarian affairs chief Mark Lowcock said that Houthi authorities recently confirmed they would accept a long-planned UN mission to the 407,000-dwt Safer (built 1976).
“We have, of course, been here before,” he said.
