The US placed sanctions on an Iran-based executive and his alleged network of "businessmen and shipping experts" for benefiting Houthi rebels in Yemen, while delisting others connected to the Islamic republic.

On Thursday, the Department of the Treasury sanctioned Sa’id al-Jamal, five other individuals, four companies and the 35,000-dwt Triple Success (built 1999), accusing them of illicit trafficking of Iranian goods abroad and redirecting the profits to the Houthis and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Quds Force.
