The US wants Opec+ to go further in ramping up crude oil production, arguing its recent compromise did not go far enough to support a recovering global economy.

In July, the 13-member group plus its 10 allies agreed to bump up production by 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) each month starting in August until at least December — one of the hoped-for catalysts for a possible tanker market recovery.
