Norway’s HAV Hydrogen is launching a deck-based containerised energy system for ships as it aims to fast-track hydrogen’s commercial use as a ship fuel.

The stand-alone system is based on 200-kW hydrogen fuel cell modules and can be set up with 1,000 kW output from a standard 20-foot shipping container, or more by combining containers.

HAV Hydrogen said it could be used for main propulsion systems or additional power supply on board vessels.
