Samskip will use an LNG-powered ro-ro to install and test a compact, modular carbon capture system.
The Dutch company has selected the 900-lane metre, dual-fuelled Samskip Kvitbjorn (built 2015), which operates from Rotterdam to the Norwegian coast as far north as Hammerfest.
It will become the testbed for a new system being developed in the ME2CC (Maritime Efficient & Easy Carbon Capture) project.
