Shortsea ro-ro specialist UECC chose Zeebrugge’s Bastenaken Terminal for the official naming of its 4,000-car-capacity Auto Eco — the world’s first pure car/truck carrier (PCTC) to be equipped with dual-fuel propulsion.
On hand from UECC joint owner NYK Line were senior figures Koichi Chikaraishi, Takao Kusakari and Svein Steimler of NYK Group Europe.
Margareta Wallenius-Kleberg and Jonas Kleberg flew in from Stockholm, Sweden, to represent co-owner Wallenius Lines, alongside president Anders Boman.
