Shipping people can be quite philosophical when they want to be. Take Rob Wagenborg, the outgoing boss of Dutch shipping company Royal Wagenborg.

In an interview with his company’s in-house magazine, he reveals himself as something of a poet.

He also flagged up the highlights of a career that took off in 1989 when he and his cousin, Egbert Vuursteen, were appointed to the management of the Wagenborg holding company, succeeding his father Bert.
