LEADING Greek reefer operator Laskaridis group took a plunge last week that gave listed passenger ferry operator Attica Enterprises cold feet.

Scholar Investments, an offshore company controlled by Laskaridis, agreed to take a 55% stake in privately controlled enterprise Cronus Airlines by participating in a planned increase in the company´s share capital.

A similar arrangement had been under consideration by Attica but last week the company announced it had pulled out of the talks after it was informed about "unforseen and non-deferrable financial obligations which put in jeopardy the exisitence of the airline itself".
