Singapore liner group NOL has teamed its logistics subsidiary up with UK-based distribution group Christian Salvesen to create what the two parties claim will be the first truly end-to-end transport service.
NOL's APL Logistics (APLL) has established a 50-50 joint venture with Salvesen to set up an integrated supply-chain operation for Europe, called Holistica Solutions.
It will bolt APL's liner-tracking and tracing systems for Asian exports together with Salvesen's European delivery systems to create a global transport network under separate management.
