Both sides, however, believe brokers will survive in some form, even if
more possibilities arise to technically eliminate shipbrokers' jobs.
Such attitudes are revealed in a survey of more than 100 owners and
brokers carried out by Norwegian student Frode L Aschim, who is
studying for a shipping diploma at Plymouth University in the UK.
Aschim says the high response rate he received for his survey is
evidence that the industry is actively thinking about the challenges
that lie ahead.
