Modec of Japan has been linked to another VLCC purchase for offshore conversion. The company is said to have bought the DSME-built, 299,000-dwt BW Nysa (built 2000) from BW Group for $32m. In January, Modec bought the 299,150-dwt Luxembourg (built 1999) from Euronav for $28m.
The Halla-built, 45,000-dwt products tanker Iver (built 1997) is understood to have gone to South American interests for a firm $12.9m.
