Sources say the 106,000-dwt Blue River (built 2002) has been fixed on subjects at $19,000 per day. Oslo broker Fearnleys pegs the three-year rate for an aframax at $21,000 per day but the Blue River is 12 years old.
The Tsuneishi-built tanker was bought as Seatransport from Valles Steamship for $18.7m in June.
Estoril has three other tankers in its fleet. The 105,000-dwt Blue Sea and Blue Sky (both built 2009) were bought as resales from Sumitomo Heavy Industries for $50.5m
