Anhui province's oldest shipyard, whose history dates back more than 100 years, is gearing up for better times after a restructuring exercise that rescued it from insolvency and a switch in ownership.
Formerly known as Wuhu Shipyard after the city where it is located, the yard was renamed Wuhu Xinlian Shipbuilding Co after emerging from bankruptcy in December 2007. Its new owner is Chinese car maker Chery, also based in Wuhu.
