Brokers say Oslo-listed Camillo Eitzen's purchase of Gibson Gas Tankers shares has the potential to consolidate the small gas-carrier market in Europe and the Caribbean where the ships are being traded.

Camillo Eitzen confirmed last week that it is in negotiations to buy the shares in Gibson Gas Tankers, which owns five small gas ships the 3,200-cbm Ettrick (built 1991) and Lanrick (built 1992), 6,100-cbm Eildon (built 1982), 6,500-cbm Yarrow (built 1982) and 6,600-cbm Traquair (built 1982).
