Fred Cheng invited about 100 of his best friends and colleagues down to
the delivery ceremony of the New Vanguard, the first of 15 VLCCs Golden
Ocean has on order in Japan.
But he was nowhere to be found just when they needed him most - in the
Karaoke room. As the standard of the singing declined into the night,
the question "Where's Fred?" could be heard more and more frequently.
The Karaoke King's golden tones were much in demand to lift a rather
pitiful performance by some of shipping's "should-know-better"
financiers.
