Greek pair behind orders for 12 aframaxes
Aristides Alafouzos-controlled Kyklades Maritime of Greece and another unnamed owner have firmed up their commitment in South Korea for up to 12 aframax-tanker newbuildings.
Samsung Heavy Industries confirms it has won an order for nine aframaxes from an unnamed Greek shipowner. It adds that the 110,000-dwt tankers are for delivery between late 2011 and mid-2012 and that the deal is worth an initial $500m.
