Aristides Alafouzos-controlled Kyklades Maritime of Greece is in the midst of negotiating a number of tanker-newbuilding contracts in South Korea.
The owner confirms it is in talks that it expects to conclude during the coming week.
Kyklades was prompted to reveal its newbuilding intentions after brokers reported that it had booked four 115,000-dwt double-hull tankers at Samsung Heavy industries. Deliveries are slated for 2011 and the vessels are costing $55m each.
