That’s the last time the US president-elect mentioned shipping on the social media platform that he uses prolifically, according to data from the Trump Twitter Archive, which has catalogued his more than 33,000 tweets.

Yet amid a not-unsurprising dearth of policy pronouncements on the maritime industry, the Republican who takes office on 20 January has fielded a team of cabinet nominees with the deepest maritime background in recent memory.
