Norwegian shipowners are considering moving their operations to Scandinavian rival Denmark following a shock tax announcement that has rocked the foundations of the country's shipping community.

This week, some Norwegian owners approached the Danish Shipowners Association to investigate the possibility of a move after the Norwegian government announced proposals that will force them to pay back postponed taxes amounting to NOK 20bn ($3.4bn)
