‘Lack of consulation’ over a tax on Polish seafarers and the resulting loss of 25 vessels from the Norwegian register has highlighted frictions between state and industry.
Norway’s government is claiming a row with shipowners over the taxation of Polish seafarers on Norwegian-flag tonnage that has affected 130 ships and resulted in more than 25 leaving the register is over.
