S’hail, a privately owned dry bulk company set up in Doha in December, was widely reported by brokers this week as having paid $5.5m for the 52,000-dwt geared bulker Prabhu Daya (built 2001).
The Onomichi-built vessel fits into the specifications of age and price given by chairman Mohamed Khalifa Abdullah al-Sada when S’hail was launched.
Negotiations
He says the company wanted to acquire up to seven bulkers and had begun negotiations on the first two.
