Less than nine months after reworking loans with its two largest lenders, Greek bulker owner Seanergy Maritime is understood to have hired US investment bank Houlihan Lokey as a financial advisor. Houlihan Lokey is considered one of the top global restructuring advisors.

The Victor Restis-backed company declined to comment when questioned by TradeWinds this week.

A source close to Seanergy was cautious when quizzed on the move, saying any hiring “would be to add value to the company”.

Besides its restructuring practice, Houlihan Lokey has expertise in mergers and acquisitions, and other aspects of corporate finance.
