Three scuba divers operating from a fishing boat have been arrested by the Egyptian navy and accused of trying to cut the SEA-ME-WE 4 fibre optic cable off Alexandria.
But the question of whether Today Makes Tomorrow (TMT)’s 320,000-dwt tanker B Elephant (built 2010), which was also in the vicinity, may have damaged the cable as it dragged an anchor is also being investigated.
