Three French-built LNG carriers fitted with a pioneering and now abandoned cargo containment system are all being repaired at the same time.

The Total-controlled, 154,472-cbm sisterships LNG Unity (ex-Provalys, built 2006) and LNG Alliance (ex-Gaselys, built 2007) are undergoing work at Damen Shiprepair Brest’s yard in north-western France.

A third vessel — the 74,130-cbm Global Energy (built 2006) — is in a yard in the southern French port of Marseille.
