Hyundai Mipo bags MR tanker newbuildings worth up to $145m

South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) has landed an order for up to four 50,000-dwt MR tanker newbuildings from a European owner.

An HMD executive said the order is for two firm vessels with options for a pair of additional ships.

HMD declined to disclose the identity of the owner behind the deal, citing contract confidentiality.

It said the two firm newbuildings cost KRW 80.2bn
