Philly Shipyard has jumped into the US offshore wind market, winning a contract potentially worth nearly $400m.

The Oslo-listed Pennsylvania builder announced on Monday that it had cut a deal with Great Lakes Dredge and Dock to build the first-ever Jones Act subsea rock installation vessel with an option for a second unit.

The first ship is worth $197m. If both are built, the value rises to $382m.
