Knud Pontoppidan-chaired Nordic Shipholding has reduced its loss in the third quarter as revenue edged up.

The Danish tanker owner said the net deficit was $3.44m, down from $9.02m in the same period of 2018.

The better result was due to no new vessel impairment losses in 2019, as revenue grew to $6.5m from $6.33m.

But the loss came in "at the lower end" of the group’s expected performance as dry dockings for three ships took longer than expected due to installation of ballast water treatment systems.
