TradeWinds’own Jon Chaplin had a front row seat as thecasing of a British Airways jet engine came away during takeoff for a flightfrom London to Oslo and crash landed at Heathrow.
Having swallowed his heart Chaplinreached for his smartphone and captured footage which is now being used by newsoutlets - and lapped up by his Facebook friends.
Reuters quotes Chaplin to have said:“As theplane started to gather speed on the runway for take-off, the engine casingcame loose and started flapping and at the point of take-off it snapped offwith a loud bang.
