A Norwegian Cruise Line crewman was sentenced to 10 years in prison after prosecutors alleged that he took part in a “drug distribution ring” to move cocaine from Honduras to the US.
The sentencing of Desrick Gordon, 23, came after a federal jury in Tampa, Florida, convicted him in December of conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute.
In addition to meting out the prison sentence, US District Judge Richard Lazzara also ordered the forfeiture of nearly $53,400 in cash that had been seized by officials.
