Container shipping continues to put the squeeze on the traditional reefer trades and are forecast to accelerate their market share over the coming years.
By 2021 reefer containerships are forecast to carry 85% of perishable reefer cargo versus the 79% seen in 2016, according to Drewry.
“The reefer sector continues to report strong cargo growth which is very encouraging for vessel operators,” it said.
