Royal Arctic Line (RAL) has struck a slot-swap deal to bring Greenland into Icelandic owner Eimskip’s international network in a move that will involve new boxship orders.
The container lines said they intend to work together through capacity sharing on larger vessels that will increase efficiency and service reliability.
They will also “invest in and operate container vessels designed and built for the special weather conditions in the North Atlantic and the Arctic, in accordance with the Polar Code,” they added.
