Hapag-Lloyd defended the legality of a liner industry conference after Peru announced an investigation of several major liner operators.
Company spokesman Ranier Horn tells TradeWinds that the German containership operator's participation in the Asia West Coast South America Freight Conference was “in compliance with the law”.
“Notwithstanding that fact, the company has submitted all the available information to the authorities in order to demonstrate that it operated in compliance with applicable law and to contribute to the clarification of the case,” he said.
