Korea's Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) is planning to take on up to 220 workers from collapsed rival Hanjin Shipping.

It said it wants to initially employ 131 office and overseas staff, plus crew and ship managers.

HMM will also recruit 41 additional Hanjin employees, including crew, next month.

In addition, it also intends to rehire a maximum of 40 to 50 more seafarers depending on how many Hanjin ships it ends up buying.
