Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding has won a newbuilding order from compatriot Ningbo Ocean Shipping for four feeder containerships.
The 1,000-teu vessels are reportedly due for delivery in early 2017, according to the shipbuilder. No financial details have been disclosed.
These latest newbuildings take Ningbo’s order backlog to thirteen feeder containerships at yards all within China.
Just over a year ago it ordered a pair of 1,100-teu containerships at Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard for delivery at the end of 2015.
