Japanese shipping giant NYK has pleaded guilty to criminal cartel conduct in an Australian federal court.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said on Monday that it had been investigating the transport of cars, trucks and buses to Australia between 2009 and 2012.
“This is the first criminal charge laid against a corporation under the criminal cartel provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act,” ACCC chairman Rod Sims said.
