Hong Kong-listed container line SITC has sold a boxship to a sister company to meet new rules for shipping to Taiwan.
SITC Shipping is paying $6.64m for Hai Lian Shipping, which owns the 831-teu SITC Ningbo (built 2004) operating from the mainland.
It is being chartered back to SITC for 10 years at $1,819 per day, with a re-purchase option at any time.
