Tote Maritime Alaska has finished the first phase of changing over the first of two Orca-class vessels to run off both LNG and diesel.

The Washington-based company said it installed two LNG tanks behind the bridge of its 22,400-dwt ro-ro vessel North Star (built 2003).

The ship arrived in Anchorage Sunday after taking its first voyage as a "dual-fuel-ready" vessel that can run off of LNG and, when needed, diesel.
