A leading Swiss broker has warned of a growing threat of manipulation of The Baltic Exchange’s dry freight benchmarks.
Ifchor chief executive Emanuele Ravano highlighted an increase in dry cargo players willing to trade “under the surface.”
Speaking at the Baltic Exchange and TradeWinds International Shipbroking Forum in London, Ravano said that brokers had to bring that information to light to ensure the accuracy of the dry indices.
