Shipbroker BRS Group has confirmed its takeover of Colombian bulker broker Amazonas Shipping, with a move into tankers and S&P on the cards.
It said the new name of the South American shop is BRS Amazonas SAS.

Amazonas was founded in Bogota more than 30 years ago by Eduardo Silva to serve local Latin American and Caribbean clients, mainly cargo customers using bulkers up to ultramax size.
