A general cargoship has been forced aground in Italy in strong winds.
Local media said the 10,100-dwt Sigma (built 2005) dragged its anchor in gusts of up to 50 knots at Livorno on 13 January.
The ship, with 18 crew on board, was not carrying cargo.
A patrol boat and a port tug tried to prevent the grounding, but without success.
A meeting was held with the 52-year-old Ukrainian master to draw up a salvage plan.
